More than 200 Missional Partners between Redeemer and Redemption City churches sponsor a child with Compassion International, whose vision is releasing children from poverty in Jesus’ name. In 2021, Redeemer covered half the cost to pay for a church building for Filadelfia II Church in Santa Cruz, Bolivia.  The goal of this trip is for participants to engage with the children and youth they sponsor on a personal level. The trip focuses on this relationship building, along with activities like Vacation Bible School or sports camps. It will be led by Doug (elder at Redeemer) and Amy Warren. We are looking to build a team of 15-25 individuals.

Important Dates
  • March 1, 2026 Redeemer Church application deadline
  • April 27, 2026 Registration deadline. All team members must have completed the online registration process. Team members will be encouraged to begin passport applications now if they do not already have a passport valid for 6 months after the date of the trip.
  • June 7 - Compassion Trip Guide & Journal sent to you (4 weeks after registration closes)  
  • June 26 - All funds are due.
 Cost
  • The estimated total cost is around $3,000 per person. This includes the flight, fun day with your Compassion child and his or her family, lodging, and food.
  • On-your-own costs: passport, visa, spending money, Yellow Fever vaccine, checked luggage fees 

Please note: support raising will be allowed and encouraged with the oversight and coaching of your team leaders and Pastor Garrett. 

On the consumption of food

Cooked foods are safe, don’t recommend eating fresh foods. However, If you can peel it, you can eat it. 

Requirements 
  • Completed application and acceptance through Redeemer Church
  • Passport: Must be valid through 6 months beyond trip date (January 2027). 
  • Yellow Fever vaccine 
  • Background check 
  • Member or attender of Redeemer Church or Redemption City Church and in good standing
  • At least 13 years of age
  • Ages 13-15 must travel with a legal guardian with a 1-to-1 ratio
  • Ages 16-17: no legal guardian needed, just more paperwork that parents need to sign off on
  • Ages 18+: their own legal guardians
Tentative Itinerary 
  • Friday, August 7: Depart ORD flight to Santa Cruz, Bolivia
  • Saturday, August 8: Check into hotel, welcome tour, visits
  • Sunday, August 9: Worship Service with partner church, lunch with FCP pastor and staff 
  • Monday, August 10: Visit Compassion Center ... A Day in the Life activity, VBS, Alumni Dinner  
  • Tuesday, August 11: Shopping and sightseeing 
  • Wednesday, August 12: Visit Compassion Center, welcome, tour, home visits
  • Thursday, August 13: Return flight to the USA
