Local Outreach

Local OutreachAdoption

The mission of Redeemer Church is to declare Jesus and develop Jesus followers. Our obedience to this mission is the foundation of every Redeemer ministry.

To that end, we have outreach efforts locally and globally, as well as resources for those interested in adoption.

There is also a need for prayer warriors to join Prayer Force. To get involved with the Rockford Rescue Mission fill out this form.

Community Friends

The Community Friends Program matches families in the Rockford community with international students. These families help international students by giving them the opportunity to have authentic cultural experiences in the area and in their homes. Many students who have participated in this program in past years have shared holidays at their Community Friends’ homes and have attended local area attractions with their families. The simple application process involves a background check for the hosting household members at no charge to participants.

Rock House Kids

Rock House Kids strives to feed Rockford's inner-city children physically, spiritually and emotionally. Since 1999, they have cared for kids, ages 6-18, by providing a safe, warm and nurturing environment four evenings a week.

During their evening program they serve hot meals, and enjoy music and instructional time. The program is led by compassionate, adult volunteers who teach basic life skills, encourage the kids to do their best in school, and develop positive goals for their futures.

At the end of each evening, the children leave with a bag of kid-friendly, non-perishable food items to help sustain them when they are away from the program. Throughout the year children are provided with important items such as coats, shoes, boots, socks, hats and mittens, hygiene supplies, blanket and pillows, flashlights, school supplies, and even birthday and Christmas gifts.

Stateline Youth for Christ

Stateline Youth for Christ seeks to empower disadvantaged teens spiritually, socially, and emotionally through creative programs and healthy relationships with adult mentors. Youth for Christ reaches young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to prayer and the Word of God, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement.

Safe Families

Safe Families for Children (SFFC) hosts vulnerable children and creates extended family-like supports for families facing a crisis through a community of compassionate volunteers to keep children safe and families together.

Since 2003, Safe Families for Children has arranged close to 50,000 hostings in Host Family homes across the United States. The number of hostings are even higher when combined with existing efforts in the United Kingdom and Canada. On average, a child stays with a Host Family for slightly less than 45 days. Parents are referred for a variety of reasons but mostly because of an unstable living environment or crisis. The majority of children hosted are younger than 6 years of age, and 95% return to their parent or a relative who is in a better position to care for them.

To sign up to be a safe family, or for information on how else you could get involved, fill out this form.
