What is Purchase With a Purpose?

Redeemer Church Christmas Market is an annual event made possible through Purchase With a Purpose. Every November Purchase with a Purpose partners with a collective of Gospel-centered organizations from around the globe who provide products based on fair-trade practices; striving to economically empower their artisans through craft training and financial stability while sharing with them the love of Christ and the hope of the Gospel. Each organization has a different vision and focus: some are working to provide relief for orphaned children in Africa, some to work to end the poverty cycle in Haiti, and more. Why should I come?

Every year we have the opportunity to provide the community with incredibly well-made, hand-crafted products. Redeemer Church hosts this event just before Thanksgiving, which makes it a perfect time to come out and do your Christmas shopping for the year. You'll get some beautiful items for yourself or for others, and your money goes directly towards these artisans and the organizations that are supporting them.

What do you do with the money?

Redeemer Church doesn't keep any of the money from items purchased from our organizations. Almost all of the money is sent back to the organizations that provided the product. If there is "profit", such as from the food items, it is donated to one of our partner organizations; each year we choose one organization that will receive those extra funds - for 2021 it was Compassion International. All donations made beyond product purchased will also go towards this organization. The equipment for the event, such as the tent and the heaters, come out of the church's budget. This enables every dollar spent at Purchase With a Purpose to go to the organizations providing product.

How many organizations will be there?

In 2022 there were 17 different organizations represented, in different capacities. There were 15 tables of hand-crafted items, along with coffee and baked goods that could be purchased. You can see a list of the participating organizations below, and we'll update the list with this year's organizations as we get closer to the day.

Also, Compassion International had a representative available to show you how to be more connected with your Compassion Child. Visit our Kids Zone to learn how to use the Compassion app, write a letter to your child, or even sponsor a child!

Can I bring my kids?

Absolutely! We love seeing kids running around, having fun, learning about these organizations, and we even have a Kids Zone with some fun activities to keep them engaged and make this an event they won't forget!

Will there be food provided?

We have snack foods, such as popcorn, available at the event. As the day gets closer, we will update with the specifics of the available food. There will also be hot coffee, hot chocolate, and cider available for purchase.
