Life Groups are the primary way we foster meaningful community and life-on-life discipleship at Redeemer Church. Life Groups complement our Sunday gatherings by providing opportunities for deeper relationships, spiritual encouragement, accountability, and growth.
The Life Group season runs from September through May. New groups are also launched throughout the ministry year based on leader availability and participant interest, so you may sign up at any time. If you are interested in leading or hosting a group, you can reach out to our Life Groups pastor.
Who: We encourage every Missional Partner and regular attender to participate in a Life Group.
When: Most groups meet weekly.
Where: We have groups in the Rockford, Loves Park, Roscoe, Rockton, Belvidere, Cherry Valley, and Machesney Park areas. We would love to start groups in surrounding towns like Beloit, Winnebago and Byron. If you have interest in starting a group, reach out to the Life Groups pastor.
What: Life Groups typically consist of 12–14 adults that include a mix of single and married people of varying ages. We also offer groups for newly married couples, men, and women. Our Twenties Ministry also features their own Life Groups, which you can learn about here.
Characteristics
- Intergenerational Community: We intentionally form groups that reflect a range of ages and life stages to foster discipleship across generations.
- Gender-Specific Accountability: Men and women meet separately for accountability and encouragement that cultivates transparency and growth.
- Multiplication: Groups multiply every 2 to 3 years to make room for others and develop more leaders.
