One of Redeemer's core philosophies and driving values is to be a church-planting church. To that end, Redeemer Church has sent Pastor Matt Joiner to plant a new church, Redeemer South.

Redeemer South launched on April 16, 2023 at Redeemer Church's original location (Windsor Rd.) with the goal of finding a new location by September. Redeemer South plans to be autonomous within several years.

Over the past five years, Pastor Matt has served as Associate Pastor of Kids as well as Life Groups and Missions. During this time, he has started the groundwork for a free Biblical Counseling Center that will reach the community. The training of counselors will continue at both churches.

FAQ

Want to know more about Redeemer South? We've put together a list of common questions for you.

    • What will a typical Sunday service look like?
Redeemer South worships from 4-5:15pm at its temporary Loves Park location on Windsor Rd. Afterwards, we share a meal together in the Student Center. If you are visiting, we'd love to have you join us. Pastor Matt is our senior pastor and will provide live preaching almost every Sunday.

    • What do you offer for children?
South Kids is available for infants through preschool every Sunday. Kindergarteners through 5th Graders can be checked into South Kids the first three Sundays of the month. On 4th and 5th Sundays of every month, K-5 will worship in the auditorium with their families. Check-in begins in the Student Center at 3:45pm.

    • How do I sign up to bring something for potluck?
Thank you for bringing food for our weekly meal together. Labeling your containers and bringing food ready to serve helps our Food Team immensely! We do try to provide gluten free and dairy free options.

    • Does Redeemer South have any elders?
Yes. Darin Sterenberg, who is currently an elder, will go with Pastor Matt to the church plant.

    • How do I get involved with Redeemer South?
We'd love to help you find a place to serve! Please email the office:

    • What location are you looking at for a permanent home?
Ideally, a church near State and Mulford or State and Alpine. The plan is to move to a separate location by September.

    • How do I transfer membership?
If you are part of Redeemer Central and plan to commit to Redeemer South, email  to let us know.

    • How do I transfer my giving?
When the time comes, Redeemer South will provide instructions and training to transfer giving. Until then, continue giving in the same way you have been.
